Chief Executive Officer

As CEO, Kathy oversees all of the hospital’s day-to-day operations as well as patient quality and care. Prior to serving as CEO of The Rehabilitation Hospital of Savannah, Kathy held the position of vice president of quality and patient safety for Memorial Health University Medical Center. Kathy has more than 35 years of experience in working in healthcare in management roles and as a physical therapist. Sixteen years of her experience have been with Memorial Health University Medical Center. Kathy earned her bachelor’s degree in physical therapy at the Medical College of Georgia.

Dr. Steven Novack

Dr. Steven Novack

Medical Director

Dr. Novack serves as the director of rehabilitation medicine at the Rehabilitation Hospital of Savannah. He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation having completed his residency at Columbia University Presbyterian Hospital in New York City in 1989. Additionally, he is a member of the medical staff at Memorial University Medical Center in Savannah.

Becky Augustyniak

Director of Human Resources

Becky joined HealthSouth in 2015 with the opening of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Savannah.  She came with  more than 20 years of human resources experience with more than 18 of those years in a hospital setting.  She earned a bachelor’s degree from Georgia Southwestern State University in general business.

Oliver Charlot

Oliver Charlot

Controller

Oliver received a graduate degree from E.S.C. Pau in France with an emphasis in accounting and finance. Oliver also obtained an MBA from the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Ala. Prior to joining HealthSouth, Oliver spent nine years as chief financial officer for a local home health care, hospice and private duty company.  In his spare time, Oliver plays league tennis and enjoys traveling with his wife and son.

Greg Dutton

Greg Dutton

Director of Quality

Greg has more than 25 years of experience with positions in healthcare management and the sales industry.  He earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Brewton Parker College.  He is an Eagle Scout and a recipient of the Daughters of the American Revolution Citizenship Medal.  When not at work, he enjoys the outdoors and is an avid sports fan. 

Molly Hanna

Molly Hanna, LMSW

Director of Case Management

Molly graduated with a master’s degree in social work from Florida State University. She is a certified trainer in dealing with patients with dementia behaviors. With over ten years of healthcare case management experience, Molly joined Rehabilitation Hospital of Savannah in 2017. She remains an active member in several community and national groups including the Coalition of Advocates for Georgia’s Elderly, Greater Savannah Coalition on Aging, Community Healthcare Connections, the NASW and the CSWA.

Shane Keating

Shane Keating

Director of Therapy Operations

Shane has been employed at Encompass Health, formerly HealthSouth, since March of 1992.  He received a Bachelor of Science in athletic training/physical education from Livingston University, a Master of Science in exercise science and a Master of Science in physical therapy from Arkansas State University. He has held several leadership roles in therapy before becoming a director of therapy in July 2013.  He joined the Rehabilitation Hospital of Savannah team in October 2017. 

Kyle Merritt

Kyle Merritt

Director of Plant Operations

Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Science in operations management from Georgia Tech in 2011. Upon graduation, he became a department manager for a food packaging and canning plant.  Most recently, he put his analytical skills to use by working at Memorial University Medical Center in the quality department performing data analyses before becoming the business manager of the operating room.

Peggy Thiedt

Peggy Thiedt

Director of Nursing

Peggy received her nursing degree from Ohio State University. She has acquired over 30 years of nursing leadership experience in acute care settings, home health and inpatient rehabilitation. She has also served in quality, risk and case management. Peggy has been married to her best friend for 42 years and in her spare time she loves to cook, sew and garden.
